Kona has been adopted!

Kona von Walmart, or just Kona to his friends, was picked up as a stray in the parking lot of a Texas Walmart by a good Samaritan. Unfortunately their existing dog didn’t accept him, so he’s looking for a new home in Upstate NY! We can’t say for sure how old he is, but the vet’s estimate is 1-2 years. His left eye is around 3/4 blue and perfectly healthy, it just gives him a distinctive look.

Kona absolutely loves playing with his sister in his foster home, and would do great with another dog. He can be reactive to some new dogs, but accepts correction well. Due to his high prey drive, he most likely wouldn’t be a good fit with cats. He’s fairly mellow for his age, but will need to have an outlet for his energy especially if he’s going to be an only dog. He has basic commands down and would love to take an obedience class with you! His leash manners are fairly good, but he will pull when he sees a squirrel.

He loves his furry animal toys, chew toys, and playing ball. He’ll let you know when it’s time to pet his belly, which he can’t get enough of. He’s an affectionate dog and will give kisses as well, but he’s not clingy. He’s a sweetheart and will bond quickly. He’s perfectly calm being crated and loves to go for a car ride.

Kona is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, neutered, housebroken, crate trained, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $375. For more information, contact Jeremiah at jeremiah@brightstargsd.org
